STUDENT - Student

 

1. Terms of service

The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies  (Holistic Therapies & Training) is a complementary health Practice and licenced provider of THE GUILD's GTi training courses.

 

2. Enrolment

It is the students' responsibility to ensure they have booked onto the correct course and that where required, they hold relevant qualifications to satisfy the pre-requisites of that course.  The student will be asked to provide copies of relevant certificates to complete the course.

 

3. Payment

Courses are payable in full to secure the students' place on the course.

Payments are made via bank transfer or credit / debit card.  Payment link is sent via email.  Confirmation of payment will be received when the transaction has been processed.  Students must ensure they retain a copy of this receipt as duplicates cannot be processed.

 

4. Confirmation of booking

Once payment has been made, we will email the student a receipt and contact them to arrange suitable dates for training.

The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies reserves the right to cancel and re-schedule any course date and will advise the student as soon as any changes are known.  We will use all reasonable endeavours to avoid changes of this nature but should this be unavoidable you will be offered an alternate date.

 

5. Cancellation policy

Students have a cooling off period of 7 days from payment of course.  In the event the student cancels the course in writing within the 7 days The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies will offer a full refund or credit note for another course.

In the unlikely event that The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies need to cancel a training course date, another date will be offered within a reasonable timescale.

If you are unable to attend the training course date agreed, a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required and another date will be offered.  Failure to attend training on the specified date, without prior notification, will result in removal from the course.  If you are removed from the course due to failure to attend 100% of the course fee will be forfeited and you will need to re-book on the course.

Refunds will not be issued to students failing to complete the course within the specified timescale (see paragraph 6).

 

6. Training

Courses are limited to no more than four students.  We will contact you to arrange a suitable date for your course.  There may be 1 to 4 people on any course.

From the date of training you will have 12 months to complete the course.  Failure to complete the course in this time will require you to book on the course again and full payment will be required.  Under exceptional circumstances extra time may be allocated to allow you to complete the course.  This is to be agreed in advance with the course tutor.  Whilst we will make every effort to accommodate this request, we reserve the right to refuse an extension.

All tools, equipment and products will be provided by The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies for all courses.

Models will be provided by The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies for all training courses.

 

7. Final Exam/Assessment

Entry to examinations is at the discretion of the tutor. This will be based upon satisfactory completion of all written coursework and course attendance.  The student will be required to demonstrate their understanding, knowledge and skills both practically and orally.

In the unlikely event that the student fails to achieve the required standard during this assessment, verbal feedback from the tutor will be provided and another date set.  The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies reserves the right to charge the student for follow up assessments at the tutor's hourly rate.  This fee is payable to the tutor in advance.

For courses requiring a final assessment the student will need to attend the training venue.  In exceptional circumstances students may carry out their final assessment via visual link - this is to be agreed in advance with the tutor.  Students should allow 2 hours for this assessment.

Towels, oils, etc - students are required to bring their own towels, covers and products for use during treatment.  If provided by The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies  there will be an additional charge of £10 payable on the day.

Model - students are required to being their own model with them for the final assessment.  If a model is provided by The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies this needs to be agreed in advance and there will be an additional charge of £10 payable on the day.

 

8. Accreditation and Certificate

Following successful completion of the course the student will be given verbal feedback by the tutor on the day. When the student has successfully completed the course they will be sent their certificate electronically by THE GUILD.

 

9. Insurance

Upon completion of the course the student is advised to submit the certificate to their insurance provider to gain cover prior to carrying out treatments.  Students can obtain insurance from THE GUILD or another suitable insurance company.  It is the students' responsibility to ensure that the course is recognised by their insurance provider prior to enrolling on the course.

 

10. Photographs/video recordings

Taking of photographs and short video recordings, via camera, phone, or other digital device is strictly prohibited unless prior arrangements have been made and agreed with your course tutor.

 

11. Copyright

The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all course materials shall remain the sole and exclusive property of THE GUILD or The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies, which will be specified on the course material.

All course materials are supplied to the student for the sole purpose of the student attaining competency to practice. In applying to become a student with The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies for a GUILD course, the student undertakes that he/she will not copy or permit the copying of any course materials, nor disclose any course content or materials or permit any disclosure or sell or hire the same to third parties.

Use of any course materials, media or any other content supplied by The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies (either direct or via an approved training provider) to the student for any other purpose other than use within a The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies training course is strictly prohibited,

 

12. Delivery and provision of service

We shall use our reasonable endeavours to make available to you at all times the products and services advertised on our website, but we shall not, in any event, be liable for interruptions of service caused by server downtime, upgrades and maintenance work.

We aim to contact customers within two working days of payment being received.

 

13. Complaints

We endeavour to respond to any complaints within five working days. Complaints should be made in writing by email in the first instance to theknottedtreemassage@gmail.com

 

14. Indemnification

The customer agrees to defend, indemnify, save and hold The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies harmless from any and all demands, liabilities, losses, costs and claims, including reasonable legal fees asserted against The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies, its associates, its customers, officers and employees, that may arise or result from any service provided or performed or agreed to be performed, or any subsequent service provided by customers, its agents, employees or assigns. The customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies against liabilities arising out of; (1) any material supplied by customer infringing or allegedly infringing on the proprietary rights of a third party and; (2) copyright infringement as described within these terms and conditions

 

15. Disclaimer

The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies makes no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied for services we provide. This includes loss of data resulting from delays, and any/all service interruptions caused by The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies and its associates. The Knotted Tree Holistic Therapies reserves the right to revise its policies at any time.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

 

16. Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

You may opt to refuse any marketing email from us in the future.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.
